North Port Collector Con Code of Conduct
1. Our Commitment
We are dedicated to providing a fun and harassment-free experience for everyone, regardless of various personal characteristics. We do not tolerate harassment of participants in any form.
2. Expected Behavior
- Respect & Consideration: Treat all individuals with kindness and professionalism.
- Consent: Always ask for permission before taking a photo or recording someone. Consent is required for physical contact, and "cosplay is not consent."
- Mindfulness: Be aware of your surroundings to ensure safety for everyone.
- Product Handling: When looking at products, ask your vendor if it is ok to pick up or handle their products on your own
- Trash: Please use provided trash receptacles when disposing of your trash. (keep our school clean)
3. Unacceptable Behavior
The following behaviors are prohibited and may result in immediate removal from the event.
- Harassment: Includes offensive verbal comments, intimidation, stalking, and harassing photography.
- Disruption: Sustained disruption of events.
- Inappropriate Content: Use of sexualized imagery or clothing in public spaces.
- Illegal Activities: Any activity that is illegal under applicable laws is prohibited.
4. School Premises
Premises & Safety Rules
- Restricted Access: Convention attendees must stay within designated event zones. Entering unapproved classrooms, offices, or staff-only areas may result in immediate removal or criminal trespass notices.
- Restrooms: Public restrooms are available near the back entrance of the campus
- Parking: Public event parking in the back parking lot of the school. Do not park in the front or sides of the campus. The south side of the building is for public library parking only.
- Drug, Tobacco & Alcohol-Free Campus: All school grounds (including parking lots and outdoor areas) are strictly drug, tobacco, nicotine, and alcohol-free. This typically includes e-cigarettes and vaping devices.
- Emergency Protocols: In the event of an emergency, attendees must follow the directions of security or event organizers.
5. Reporting an Incident
If you experience or witness harassment or have concerns, please contact us immediately:
- On-site: Locate a staff member wearing a "Security" shirt or visit the JB1 Collectibles Booth.
- Digital: Email jb1collectibles@yahoo.com or use the convention website contact tool.
- Confidentiality: Reports will be handled with discretion to protect the safety of the individual reporting.
6. Consequences
Participants engaging in harassing behavior must stop immediately. Organizers may take appropriate action, including
- Issuing a warning.
- Expulsion from the property.
- Banning from future events.
- Notifying law enforcement if necessary.
